Leaves not decurrent on the stem, ovate to narrow-ovate, dentate, 2–5 cm long. Flowers in leafy thyrses or racemes; the partial inflorescences shorter than the leaves. Corolla 10–15 mm long. Capsule narrow-cylindrical, 10–12 mm long. Erect shrubs up to 2 m high, usually viscid on the young parts. Widespread. Usually heavier soils in open forests, cliffs and headlands. Fl. spring–summer
