Erect to prostrate annual herbs. Leaves palmately veined, with 5–7 short lobes. Epicalyx of 3 free or slightly connate bracteoles inserted near the base of the calyx. Petals emarginate or notched. Ovary 8–12-locular, with 1 ovule per loculus; stylar branches 8–12. Fruit an orbicular schizocarp separating into 1-seeded indehiscent mericarps.
