Erect, perennial herbs with corms. Leaves 1–2 linear from the base of the stem up to 80 cm long and 10 mm wide, and some much shorter cauline leaves. Perianth whorls subequal, connate basally into a tube. Filaments connate into a tube; anthers sessile or almost so on the filament tube. Stylar branches entire or 2-dentate, scarcely dilated. Capsule linear. Cormils often present at the nodes. Noxious weeds.
