Shrubs covered with silver to rusty scurfy scales. Leaves alternate, simple, entire or slightly toothed. Flowers in axillary or terminal corymbs umbels or short racemes. Calyx 5-cleft or 5-toothed. Petals 5, white to yellow, imbricate, covered with scales on outer surface. Stamens 10. Ovary 5-locular, rarely fewer. Fruit dehiscent. Seeds solitary.
