Leaves with obvious delineation between lamina and petiole; never divide, ovate-lanceolate, 5–10 cm long, 10–30 mm wide, dentate. Involucre narrow-campanulate, c. 10 mm diam.; bracts 12–14, 8–10 mm long. Ray florets up to 10; rays 10–13 mm long. Cypselas 4–6 mm long. Pappus pinkish, c. 10 mm long. Erect perennial up to 1.5 m high. Widespread. WSF. Fl. most of the year
