Involucral bracts 13–15. Lower leaves pinnatisect with ± entire lobes, mostly up to 12 cm long. Involucre campanulate, 6–8 mm diam. Ray florets 6–9. Cypselas c. 5 mm long, brown. Pappus 7–10 mm long. Erect perennial up to 1 m high. Widespread. Moist places in open forests and gullies. Fl. spring–summer
