Styphelia Sm.

14 species endemic Aust.; all states and territories except NT

Erect or spreading shrubs. Leaves sessile or nearly so, rigid, pungent pointed. Flowers axillary, solitary (rarely 2–3 together). Corolla tube elongated, cylindrical; lobes linear, valvate in the bud, bearded inside, the lobes revolute exposing the stamens. Ovary 5-locular, with 1 ovule per loculus. Style filiform, longer than the corolla tube. Fruit drupaceous.
