Hairs on lateral arms of the column forming a ciliate margin to the arm, horizontal. Plant up to 45 cm high. Flowers 3–15. Perianth segments usually blue, up to 20 mm long. Widespread. Open forest and heath. Fl. Sept.–Nov.
