Uncinia tenella
Densely tufted delicate perennial herb. Leaves filiform. Spikelets 1-flowered (see Carex), unisexual, arranged in a loose oblong spike 15–20 mm long. Female spikes enclosed in a flask-shaped 2-fid utricle with a hooked bristle exserted from the mouth of the utricle (Fig. 46). Male spikelets in upper part of the spike. Perianth absent. Stamens 3. Style 3-fid. Nut narrow-oblong, 3-angular, as long as the utricle. Blue Mts Damp shaded places.
