Xanthorrhoea minor minor
Scape and spike together usually less than 75 cm long. Leaves erect, ± flat on adaxial surface or concave, 2–4 mm wide. Scape 2–5 times as long as the spike, 7–20 mm diam. Fruit often curved with the tip pointing upwards. Stems buried, branched; the clusters of leaves thus often appearing to grow in colonies. Widespread. Damp sites, often on clay soils (Some specimens of other species may have the same scape:spike ratio as X. minor. When identifying Xanthorrhoea the characteristics of the population from which the specimen has been taken should be borne in mind.)
