Lower bracts arranged in 5 rows, closely imbricate. Flower heads tapering gradually towards the base. Peduncles terete, 30–100 cm long. Leaves terete or nearly, 20–60 cm long, 1 mm wide. Widespread. In wet soil. Fl. spring–summer
