Inflorescence a much branched panicle or subdigitate. Spikelets with 1 to several florets, disarticulating above the glumes, compressed. Glumes subequal , shorter than lemmas, awnless or mucronate, 1-nerved. Lemmas 3-nerved, lateral nerves usually hairy. Palea shorter than lemma, keels ciliolate.
