Seed trigonous. Spikelets with 2–5 florets, pedicellate to sessile, 1.5–3 mm long, awnless. Glumes subequal, 0.7–1.5 mm long. Lemma c. 1.7 mm long. Inflorescence 10–30 cm long. Erect, tufted, glabrous perennial up to 1 m high. Leaf blades up to 20 cm long, inrolled when dry. Camden district. Heavy soils. Fl. summer.
